Hey there love,

I hope that this blog post finds you in good health and spirits as I wanted to stop in and share with you what's on my heart. It's a long one, so prepare yourself.

Watching the news, the headlines, the videos on television and those being shared on Facebook have been the source of entertainment for the week for the entire world.

I don't have to tell you that this has disrupted life as we know it, you're living through this just like my family and I are, but what I do want to share with you is that while it is a trying time, it is also a great time to press the reset button and create a new normal!

If you are like me, then you are working from home, others are off work with pay and even more, are off work and wondering how they are going to survive without a paycheck. Needless to say, we all have the opportunity now to create a new normal.

Whether it is...

  • Creating a schedule of things to do with your children at home to keep some form of structure
  • Finding a way to keep the noise down by the rest of the household while you attend conference calls/virtual meetings remotely
  • Taking time to clean those closets that you've been meaning to get to
  • Stocking up on the essentials to make sure that you and your elderly loved ones are prepared
  • Getting back to focusing on your partner within your home vs. distractions outside of your home...

ALL of our normal routines have come to a halt which means we get to start over.

What if instead of allowing stress to overtake us, we focused more on how to add more connection with the ones we love and even our very own neighbors?

We have a pretty close-knit block, heck we have 2 block club parties a year with DJ AND outdoor family movie. When schools closed, an email went out to our list of parents that were working from home willing to watch the kids of other families or do grocery shopping, run errands, etc. Such a sense of community, we are so blessed.

What can you do, not only for your family but for your community in these upcoming weeks? How can you focus on the positive vs. the negative and share the love (minus the virus) instead of fear and panic? Is this virus serious business, yes it is but it doesn't have to consume us in a way that breeds more illness by inducing levels of stress that are not healthy.

Throughout the next couple of weeks, I promise to be an occasional source of positivity. I'm digging deep and sharing what's truly in my heart with you because I know the effects of being faced with stress every day all day. Having said that, if I can give you other things to think about as we all begin to create a "new normal" that's exactly what I plan to do.

Some of us have been asking for world peace and repeating the Rodney King slogan of "Can't we all just get along?" Well, now is our chance. This virus is not picking and choosing its victims based on gender, socioeconomic status, rank in the government, vegan vs. carnivore - it has proven that we are ALL susceptible. Which means that we need each other!

Keep this in mind as you begin to find your footing with all of the changes that have taken place and those that are still to come.

Know that I love you, love each other, be patient with each other and help out whenever you can. You don't have to tell me, Facebook or anyone else what you're doing...as long as you're doing something in relation to others...that's all that counts.

Love one another (even if you have to do it from across the room), wash your hands and begin to redefine what your daily routine looks like.

No matter what's going on in your part of the world, begin each day with gratitude for your current situation because somewhere across the globe, someone else has it far worse.

Praying for you and your families and keeping you covered in healing energy!

Be safe!

With light and love... Coach Anita Charlot
